A great bottle of wine, the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Borniques comes from a site just above Amoureuses, next to Musigny, that covers a tiny 1.4-hectare parcel of rock, clay, and limestone. The wine has a ripe, supple, classic 2019 style as well as plenty of black raspberry fruits, notes of spice box, candied flowers, orange tea, and some darker, earthy nuances. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has nicely integrated acidity and leads with its fruit, yet it shows impressive complexity and nuance with time in the glass. Give bottles 2-3 years in the cellar and enjoy over the following 10-15.
