Tasting notes
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Reliquus comes from a blend of Grace Family and Cornelius Grove and is intended to be a more accessible expression from this team. It’s a stunning wine that brings beautiful depth and richness as well as classic Cabernet Sauvignon notes of cassis, leafy herbs, tobacco, and chocolate. This broad, mouth-filling, velvety beauty will drink well for at least a decade.

Blackcurrant, graphite, lavender, mint and stone aromas. Full and flavorful but remains lightly austere in the best sense, giving it tannic tension. Needs time to soften but already plenty of form and focus. Spring 2024 release. Best in three or four years. Drink from 2027.
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Reliquus is fabulous. Rich and expansive, with tons of textural depth, the 2021 possesses notable intensity from start to finish. Inky dark fruit, mocha, licorice, sweet spice and chocolate are amplified in a sumptuous, heady Cabernet Sauvignon that delivers the goods. This is impressive juice and also an overachiever for a relatively modestly-priced wine by Napa Valley standards. The 2021 is flat-out gorgeous. I would be thrilled to own it.
Pliant and layered, with outstanding depth, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Reliquus is superb. The purity of the flavors is remarkable. Red cherry/plum fruit, blood orange, mint and spice are beautifully amplified in this racy, deep Cabernet Sauvignon. What a gorgeous wine this is.
