The 2019 Lady, Birds & Boy is a blend of 65% Roussanne, 25% Marsanne and 10% Malvasia Bianca matured in large-format, seasoned oak and stainless steel barrels for 25 months. It has a medium gold color and gregarious scents of yellow peach, jasmine, potpourri, green herbs and peppery accents. The medium-bodied palate is textural and perfumed with rounded acidity and loads of spicy accents on the long finish.

The 2019 Lady, Birds & Boy, based on 65% Roussanne, 25% Marsanne, and 10% Malvasia Bianca, has a medium gold hue (I suspect it was unfined and unfiltered) to go with an exotic bouquet of honeyed orange, tangerine, chamomile, and lavender. It's exotic, medium to full-bodied, has good acidity, and a clean, lengthy finish. It's another interesting white from this estate that's going to be best with food. While I always love the wines from Matthias Pippig, some of these latest releases played in what I call the “more interesting than good” category. While all good, there are hits and misses here.
The 2019 Lady, Birds & Boy, a blend of Roussanne, Marsanne and Malvasia Bianca, is a classic Sanguis wine. Rich and exuberant, the 2019 offers up dried pear, almond, flowers, spice and chamomile, all in a layered, savory style that opens beautifully in the glass. This oily, viscous white is a joy to taste. Time in the glass brings out striking freshness to play off the wine's richness.
