Tasting notes
Good full red. Captivating aromas of raspberry, herbs, spices and smoked meat, along with some Burgundian funk. Fat, full and broad, with a distinct wildness to the sappy black raspberry, black cherry and smoke flavors. Highly concentrated, chewy pinot with considerable soil character and substantial, slightly dry tannins.

A small selection made from Clone 828 (supposedly one of the cleaned up suitcase cuttings taken from a famous Burgundy domaine), the 2005 Pinot Noir Cinghiale Vineyard Clone 828 exhibits incredible sweet forest floor notes intermixed with flowers, jammy strawberries, and black currants. The superb aromatics are followed by a broad, expansive, full-bodied, opulent, seductive, velvety-styled Pinot Noir that should drink well for 5-7 years. Previously recommended: 2003 Cabernet Franc (92), 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon (91), 2003 David Proprietary Red (90). Tel. (707) 963-2134
