Tasting notes
Score 88/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2006

(15.5% alcohol; from 40-year-old vines, according to Browne) Very good deep red. Very ripe aromas of cherry, smoke and spicy oak. Large-scaled and expressive, with a creamy, liqueur-like raspberry and chocolate character framed by noticeable oak. Finishes with big, chocolatey tannins. This vineyard was the first pinot source for Kosta and Browne; their first bottling was from vintage 2000.
