Tasting notes
Cut from the same cloth as the other three releases, the 2019 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard offers outstanding notes of wet stone, kirsch, and black pepper. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a ripe, meaty structure, with a delicate smokiness and a note of turned earth. Well-balanced, it has the structure to spend another year or two in the cellar before it starts to show at its best. Drink 2025-2040.

As with the estate Chardonnay, the 2019 Pinot Noir Carneros is released with a black label and comes from their estate vineyard in Carneros. It's one of the deeper-hued Pinot Noirs in the lineup, yet it's still translucent and bright ruby. Wonderful darker cherry and currant fruits as well as notes of leafy herbs, forest floor, and spice develop as it sits in the glass, and this beauty is medium to full-bodied, with a round, layered mouthfeel and both integrated acidity and tannins. It's a brilliant Pinot readers will love to have in the cellar over the coming 5-7 years.
