Tasting notes
The 2007 Pinot Noir Freedom Hill Vineyard comes from a famous Willamette Valley terroir that has been totally replanted. Deep crimson colored, the nose exhibits cedar, spice box, earth notes, and a mix of red and black fruits. On the palate, it has plenty of stuffing, savory flavors, and excellent balance. It will provide pleasure through 2019. Ken Wright describes 2007 as -?a really difficult year. It challenged me to be really good at farming and to be patient?Luckily it was cool and the fruit remained intact.- All things considered, it appears that Wright performed optimally in this challenging vintage with what nature provided. Bright red. Musky black raspberry and cherry aromas are complicated by dried rose, herbs and a subtle meaty quality. Broad, palate-coating dark fruit flavors are nicely concentrated and a touch hard-edged on the back end. Finishes chewy and focused, with lingering cherry skin and floral notes.
