Score 88+/100 · Josh Raynolds, May 2006

Bright violet color. Bitter cherry, tobacco, iodine and graphite on the nose, plus a hint of fresh rose. Tightly structured, even wound up, the dark berry, rhubarb and cherry flavors firmed by bright acids and crisp tannins. The most backward and serious of this set of 2004 releases, but has the depth to repay cellaring.
