Tasting notes
Deep, almost buttercup yellow. Intense, complex, layered, waxy and iodine nose of yellow fruit that is almost a little fleshy. A finely textured palate with savoury orange and quince fruit and bitter grapefruit on the finish. Long and dense, yet linear. (WS)

The single-vineyard Bottazzi 2018 Colli Tortonesi Derthona Timorasso Monterosso offers lots of freshness and citrus in a wine style that is more reductive and tight overall. It is aged on the fine lees for two years in steel vat and another year in bottle before it goes to market. There is white flower, fresh pineapple and stone fruit at the top. You can count on more years of cellar aging with this bottle, although this is the more near-term of the two samples tasted. Hints of crushed mineral appear on the close. Some 30,000 bottles were released.
