The aromatically muted 1998 Meursault Perrieres is medium-bodied, and possesses a white flower and mineral-dominated flavor profile. Consistently one of my favorite wines in Coche's cellars, it pained me not to find more to this wine. While long, concentrated, and flavorful, it also possesses a mid-palate that appears to tighten into a lemon zest-like, constricted wine all too common in many 1998s. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel (510) 524-1524.
