Bright ruby-red. Aromas of bitter cherry, dark chocolate, smoke, licorice and cinnamon. Supple, sweet and energetic, offering a distinctly creamy quality but also very good mid-palate definition. A very pretty cabernet with a firmly tannic, long finish. This fruit was picked before the October rains, noted Kenward.

This is a gorgeous and rather open, perfumed wine from To Kalon that convinces for its overall balance and finesse. Sweet, floral notes reappear on the finish.

This is a dazzling set of wines from Tor Kenward and his long-time winemaker Jeff Ames. Frankly, I could have spent an entire afternoon delving further into these fabulous wines. Good ruby-red. Cassis, violet, minerals, licorice and bitter chocolate on the nose. In a cool, highly perfumed style, with terrific definition to the violet and crushed blackberry flavors. Finishes with firm but ripe tannins and superb length. This one should be long-lived.
