Tasting notes
Good medium-deep ruby to the rim. Deep aromas of blueberry, blackberry, licorice and spices; a bit less obviously ripe than the anniversary bottling. Plush, thick and sweet on entry, then a real fruit bomb in the middle palate, with deep red and darker berry flavors framed and lifted by minerals and spices and complicated by sexy soil tones. I find more energy here than in the anniversary bottling, even if this wine is also drinking well right now. Nicely balanced, plush and savory.

Bright ruby-red. Blueberry and licorice on the nose. Distinctly more imploded on the palate than the Napa Valley bottling, with strong peppery acidity giving shape and definition to the bright flavors of blueberry, licorice, herbs and tamarind. Very primary in the early going but there's terrific velvety texture lurking. Finishes with bitter chocolate and herb nuances and excellent length.
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Mast Vineyard is racy, exuberant and a pure joy to taste. Freshly cut roses, spice box and red berries burst from the glass in this deeply expressive Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2010 is distinguished from its stable mates for its fleshy fruit and seductive personality. Overall, this is a fairly approachable 2010 with plenty of near and medium-term appeal.
