Tasting notes
Composed of 75% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, and the remainder Petit Syrah, the 2020 Two Acres Red Wine is rich and perfumed with rich smoked meats, black fruits, and scorched earth. The palate is full and gushing up front and through the mid-palate. It has a rich, long finish with blackberry liquor and a rich, meaty texture. Drink 2024-2034.

The 2020 Red Wine Two Acres is a fine introduction to this range. It emerges from vines planted in 1910. The field blend of Mourvèdre, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Carignane, Peloursin and Alicante Bouschet works so well. Punchy dark cherry fruit, plum, mocha, spice and licorice are all dialed up in this fleshy, inviting red from Mike Officer and Carlisle. Time in the glass brings out a range of smoky undertones that in a bottled wine are hard to identify, as they could represent light taint or just as well the natural flavors of Mourvèdre, Petite and/or Syrah.
