Tasting notes
(an 80/20 blend of cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc, from Oakville Bench fruit) Good full medium ruby. Ripe but reticent aromas of cassis and graphite. Juicy but a bit youthfully imploded today, with fruit currently covered by spicy oak. There's a slight toughness to the finish that calls for some patience.

The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Duration’s opaque purple color is followed by a tight, but promising bouquet of camphor/charcoal, white flowers, blue and black fruits, and spicy oak. Full-bodied, cellaring will be beneficial. It should keep for two decades. These two limited production cuvees are made by the increasingly well-known consultant, Luc Morlet, whose wines from his own winery will be reviewed in the February issue. Tel. (707) 363-7881
