Score 94/100 · Drink 2016-2036, Robert Parker, Dec 2015

From Oakville, the 2013 Duration is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. This wine displays terrific blueberry and blackberry fruit, some forest floor, violets, and lead pencil shavings. It is dense, full-bodied, opulent and another full-throttle Cabernet Sauvignon that came principally from the Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard. Drink it over the next 20 years.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Duration is deep, powerful and intense, but at the end of the day there is not a ton of difference between the 2012 and 2013, which means the wines are being made in a formulaic manner. Yes, there is plenty of fruit to match the wine's racy personality, along with notes of graphite, crème de cassis and smoke that add nuance. But what about personality? That is what's missing.
