2012 Alpha Omega Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard

Alpha Omega's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is a pretty wine, but I don't quite see the typical To Kalon depth or richness; rather this is a mid-weight, at times translucent wine for the year with good overall balance but less in the way of real excitement. I remember seeing vastly different crop loads at To Kalon in September 2012. Alpha Omega's To Kalon is a bit on the light side relative to most other wines from this site in 2012.

From a great first-growth site, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon is a beauty. Lots of blueberry, blackberry, cassis, vanillin, licorice and incense emerge from this opaque purple-colored, full-bodied, heady red. It will offer a sensual, voluptuous mouthful of Cabernet Sauvignon over the next 15 or so years.
