Tasting notes
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Element 28 is named after the element number of nickel on the Periodic Table. It has a classic Cabernet nose of ripe cassis and blue fruits as well as background notes of tobacco leaf, damp earth, spicy oak, and graphite. Rich, full-bodied, and concentrated, it has velvety tannins, a terrific sense of balance, and a great finish. The tannins need 2-4 years of bottle age, but this is another incredibly impressive wine in the lineup. It shows the vintage character, with purity, balance, and just everything you look for in a great Napa Cabernet. It's going to evolve for 25 years or so.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Element 28 is lifted, perfumed and wonderfully inviting. Silky tannins and mid-weight structure make the 2018 so appealing today. Crushed raspberry, mocha, mint, pomegranate, spice and blood orange are some of the many notes that run through this sensual, inviting Cabernet from Nickel & Nickel.
A delicious, soft red with berry, chocolate and walnut aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied with soft tannins and a juicy finish. Lovely creaminess and savoriness to this. Drink or hold.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Element 28 (from a vineyard located in the hills up above Lake Hennessey) is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 18 months in French oak, 48% new. It has a deep garnet-purple color and vibrant notes of wild blueberries, boysenberries and cassis with hints of red roses, raspberry leaves, pencil shavings and dusty soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is elegantly played with red and black fruit flavors accented by herbal sparks and framed with grainy tannins, finishing refreshing.
