Tasting notes
Lastly, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Terraces is a tiny production cuvée, largely due to the drought. Savory red and black fruits, crushed stone, iron, and dried herbs, as well as chocolate, all make an appearance, and it's medium to full-bodied, tight, and compact on the palate, with plenty of savory, ripe tannins. It needs time, but as with most top 2021s, it will be long-lived.

A perennial standout among the Rivers-Marie releases, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Terraces once again proves that the cream rises to the top. From a site below Dalla Valle in the Vaca foothills, this stunning wine offers up loamy, earthy scents tinged with black olives and black cherries. It's full-bodied, creamy and supple, then velvety-silky on the finish, with savory overtones of dark chocolate and French roast. Impressive.
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Terraces marries the raw, intense power of this site with Thomas Brown's signature style of textural opulence. The result is a Cabernet Sauvignon that has so much to offer. Black-toned fruit, graphite, scorched earth, licorice, game, incense and charcoal embers all run through this potent, palate-staining Cabernet Sauvignon from steep hillside parcels on the eastern side of Oakville. It’s one of the best wines Thomas Brown has made here.
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Terraces is a fabulous wine off this site in the eastern side of Oakville. Dried herbs, lavender and incense meld into a core of inky dark fruit. Swaths of firm tannin wrap it all together. This flavorful explosive Cabernet Sauvignon is loaded with personality and character.
