Although it has not yet been released, I tasted a 1990 Selection de Grains Noble Tokay Clos Jebsal, to which I bestowed a perfect rating. I was told it was made from 3 hectoliters per hectare, which is essentially one-half a glass of wine per vine. Keep in mind that Chateau d'Yquem is proud (and justifiably so) of the fact that they produce one glass of wine per vine. This offering will not be released for several years, and I am sure the price will be outrageous. It is among the most unforgettable nectars I have ever tasted. Those consumers searching for the rare Zind-Humbrecht Selection de Grains Noble offerings are advised to ask their retailers about the half-bottles of this firm's 1986s that were recently released. This vintage turned out to be a stunning year for Alsace's late-harvest wines, and the 1986 SDGNs from Humbrecht are spectacular.
