Score 87-89/100 · Drink 2001-2006, Pierre Rovani, Aug 2001
The ruby-colored 1999 Nuits-St.-Georges is excellent. It displays demure, perfumed, cherry aromas and a satin-textured, medium-bodied personality. Loads of supple candied fruits, both red and black, can be found in its softly-textured, seamless character. Drink it over the next 5 years. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel. Bright red-ruby. Aromas of currant, leather, smoke and game. Fat, sweet and broad; less fine than Meo Vosne villages but nicely concentrated. Finishes with supple tannins and chocolatey ripeness.
