It’s deep, rich, medium to full-bodied, and seamlessly put together on the palate, with perfect integration of its fruit, acidity, and tannin, this is a world class Syrah that wouldn’t be out of place in a lineup of top Hermitage (it’s more Méal than Bessards). Certainly the 2013 Syrah Estate, which is more expensive, is another animal all together. This spent 33 months in 100% French puncheons and barriques and is a flavorful wine with a dense purple color, a kiss of steak tartar, white flowers, blackberry and olive. Dense and full-bodied, it hides its oak aging well and has a nice multilayered mouthfeel and finish. Drink over the next decade.
