Tasting notes
The 2009 Red Blend The Changeup is a rich wine loaded with fruit, but less personality and depth than the best wines in this lineup. Layers of dark fruit, grilled herbs, rose petals, flowers and mint all flesh out on the intense finish. The Changeup is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot, 20% Merlot and 10% Syrah.

Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. The Behrens Family Cabernets are all about textural richness and sheer opulence, qualities all of these wines have in spades. Tel. (707) 963-1774
(50% cabernet sauvignon, 20% each petit verdot and merlot, plus 10% syrah; this is the new label for the wine formerly called "Ode to Picasso"): Sweet black fruit, licorice and mineral scents are lifted by violet and minty perfume. Lush and seamless but with surprising grip to the creamy, broad flavors of cassis and chocolate. Wonderfully broad, lively wine finishing with suave, firm tannins and excellent verve and length.
