2019 Sanguis The Modern

The recently bottled 2019 The Modern is a co-fermented blend of Syrah and Viognier, Grenache and Roussanne. Medium ruby, it opens with alluring cracked pepper, rooibos tea, sour red cherry and salami scents, plus tones of mushroom, underbrush and bay leaves. The medium-bodied palate has bursting, juicy acidity to enliven its earthy fruits, a powerful frame of powdery tannins and a long, detailed finish. It has the structural harmony and purity to age gracefully in bottle over the next decade.
