The 2012 Verve (Grenache) opens with super-expressive aromatics and bright, punchy fruit. Varietal elements are amped up in an intense, racy Grenache that delivers outstanding intensity. The fruit sources are John Sebastiano and Watch Hill, a winning combination in my book. What a gorgeous wine this is.

Made from 85% Grenache, 13% Syrah and 2% Viognier, the 2012 Grenache Verve is elegant and pretty, with lots of kirsch, licorice, spice-box and crushed flower notes giving way to a medium+-bodied, silky and seamless profile on the palate. Aged 24-26 months in neutral Cigarre barrels, it should drink nicely for 5-6 years.
