Tasting notes
The upper tier wines begin with the 2008 Chardonnay Frasca's Lane Vineyard which spent 10 months in new and seasoned French oak. Aromas of toast, baking spices, pear, and apple lead to a medium-bodied, ripe, nicely balanced Chardonnay that will drink well for another 4 years. Nugan Estate is a consistently good source for value. The three Vision wines state the winery’s case well. Importer: Southern Starz, Huntington Beach, CA; tel. (714) 892-3030

Pale, green-hued yellow. Ripe melon, peach and poached pear aromas are complemented by notes of toasty lees, with a fine dusting of iodine and smoky minerals adding depth. The juicy melon and tropical fruit flavors offer very good depth, and the finish shows a gently sweet character that blends smoothly with the toast and smoke notes. This is impressively complex for the price.
