Score 91/100 · Drink 2021-2031, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2018

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is a gorgeous appellation-level wine from Mending Wall. Powerful and explosive on the palate, the 2016 packs a real punch. Gravel, smoke, licorice and inky black fruit deliver quite a bit of impact in this dense, full-bodied Napa Valley Cabernet. I would give the 2016 a few years to soften, but it is striking, even today. Vineyard sources are Casa Piena, Gemstone and Tournahu.
