2002 Andrew Will Merlot Klipsun Vineyard

Medium to dark ruby-colored, the 2002 Merlot Klipsun Vineyard sports a delightful nose of dark, waxy cherries and blackberries. It bursts forth on the palate unleashing opulent layers of black fruits and hints of freshly laid road tar. This deep, medium to full bodied wine reveals a long, ripe tannin-packed finish with a trace of alcoholic warmth detectable in its tail end. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2017. This winery, named after Chris and Annie Camarda’s nephew, Andrew, as well as son, Will, used to produce a bevy of Merlots and Cabernets from contracted vineyards. Recently, however, it has evolved towards the production of Bordeaux-style blends that reflect Chris’s perception of each vineyard’s terroir.
