Dark ruby. Aromas and flavors of black raspberry, boysenberry and candied flowers, with a bright mineral overtone. Shows very good energy and picks up spiciness with air. Lithe and precise, with excellent finishing clarity and slow-mounting tannins.

(aged in about 15% new oak): Deep ruby. Highly perfumed bouquet of red and dark berry preserves, lavender and cracked pepper. Spicy and lithe on the palate, showing sweet black raspberry and blueberry qualities. Closes with good energy and cut, leaving a floral pastille note behind.

Mid crimson. Rather light and tough. Needs time and a little more polish before being seductive. (JR)
