Tasting notes
The 2021 Chardonnay Seascape Vineyard comes from a vineyard west of the town of Occidental at around 1,000 feet of elevation. The wine was barrel fermented and matured for 13 months in 30% new French oak. It has pretty scents of lime peel, citrus blossom, cream cheese and graham cracker. The light-bodied palate is silky and concentrated with youthfully coiled flavors, tangy acidity and a long, mouth-coating finish. It will benefit from 2-3+ years in bottle. 268 cases were made.

An incredibly cold and foggy site. Only one cluster per shoot in order to successfully ripen fruit in this vineyard. The fruit area is completely deleafed to provide maximum sun exposure. Fermentation and ageing in 100% French oak (30% new) for 13 months. Pale lemon colour. Dense yellow peach, salinity, sweet marjoram and vanilla blossom – lots of concentration. Fresh acidity and textural roundness to the palate. Very long. Well-integrated, 30% new oak lends a bit of fatness to the texture and a touch of spice to the finish. (SCJ)
Expressive aromas lift from the glass of the medium gold-colored 2021 Chardonnay Seascape Vineyard, with notes of fresh sea spray, melon rind, and fresh pear. Medium-bodied, with a supple texture and a rounded feel, it delivers ripe apple, fresh white flowers, and a bit of mouthwatering freshness on the finish and has good acidity without being austere. Drink it over the next few years.
