Tasting notes
The 2017 Zinfandel Sonoma County has a medium ruby-purple color and nose of peach, apricot, boysenberry and red cherry with a very spicy undercurrent plus notes of orange peel, dusty earth, dried flowers and raspberry. While it was a difficult vintage for Zinfandel due to the heat, you wouldn’t know that by tasting these Zinfandels from Carlisle. The 2017 Zinfandel Sonoma County offers a beautiful sense of elegance and purity as well as pretty cherry fruits, violets, flowers, and spice. It’s not a heavyweight yet shines for its seamless texture, integrated acidity, and a great finish. It’s a steal at the price.
Carlisle's 2017 Zinfandel (Dry Creek Valley) is bold and explosive, with all of the exuberance that is so typical of Dry Creek Zinfandels. Even with all of its intensity, the 2017 offers terrific freshness and plenty of energy to balance things out. Petite Sirah from Mounts Ranch complements a core of Zinfandel from Teldeschi and Mounts Ranch.
