Tasting notes
The 2020 Pinot Noir Julia's Vineyard offers a spicy, complex style as well, with plenty of mulled red fruits, sassafras, and spice aromatics, medium-bodied richness, bright acidity, and a clean finish. It's a little clipped on the finish, but this is still an enjoyable Pinot Noir. I surprisingly found a few of these latest Pinot Noirs from Foxen to be muddled and overtly earthy. Nevertheless, it’s big lineup of wines and there’s lot to like and choose from.

The 2020 Pinot Noir Julia's Vineyard emerges from the oldest vines at Cambria, own-rooted Pinot planted in 1972. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, spice, sage and dried herbs are nicely lifted. There's an attractive savory quality to the 2020, even though all of the fruit was destemmed. This mid-weight, ethereal Pinot is a real charmer.
