Tasting notes
The 2020 Syrah Grenache Mataro comes all from the estate Lytton Estate Vineyard and is largely Syrah (79%) yet has 14% Grenache and 7% Mataro. Subtle black fruits, peppery herbs, smoked meat, and iron notes define the aromatics, and it's a medium to full-bodied, big, burly wine on the palate, with plenty of fruit and supple tannins. It has some subtle gritty, smoky nuances on the finish, and while it offers pleasure, I wouldn't push the aging curve.

The 2020 Syrah Grenache Mataro Lytton Estate Vineyard is a tasty, straightforward offering to drink over the near and medium term while the dark fruit remains present. Succulent black cherry, spice, mocha, leather, tobacco and incense build nicely into the soft, inviting finish.
