Tasting notes
The brilliant 2005 Pinot Noir Flax Vineyard possesses a deep ruby/purple-tinged color as well as sweet black cherry fruit intermixed with blacker currants, wet stones, pomegranate, and ripe apples. With beautiful density, terrific acidity, and a medium to full-bodied finish, this super effort is one of the stars of the portfolio. It should drink nicely for 10-12 years. Tel. Medium red. Perfumed aromas of cherry-cola, raspberry and exotic spices deepen and expand with air. Sexy red berry and cherry flavors are gently dusted with very fine tannins and brightened by suave mineral notes. Picks up a hint of cinnamon to go with the clinging raspberry flavor on the spicy, sweet, very long finish. This is all Pommard clone, notes Cabral.
