Tasting notes
The 2005 Chardonnay Russian River exhibits plenty of pineapple, poached pear, creme brulee, and spice box notes as well as well-integrated acidity in its full-bodied personality. Drink it over the next 3-4 years. Tel. (707) 433-6425; Fax (707) 433-6546

Yellow-gold. Spicy, mineral-laced apple and peach aromas are complicated by a light smoky quality. Fresh and energetic, with bright green apple and peach pit flavors, nervy acidity and a long, mineral-accented finish. Very dry and grown-up in style, with no excess fat.
About the producer
Williams Selyem is an iconic Russian River Valley winery best known for its Pinot Noir. Producing restrained yet classically Californian expressions of the heartbreak grape (as well as a host of other wines), the property has gone from pioneer to one of the region’s standard-bearers.
