Tasting notes
Full red. Subdued nose offers exotic spices, pepper and fresh herbs; smells like a wine vinified with stems. Then juicy, spicy and fairly deep but a bit youthfully musclebound and not yet showing the lift of the best 2005s from this producer. The tannins are distinctly peppery. Perhaps in an awkward stage today.

A new offering from the top of Howell Mountain is the 2005 Zinfandel Cedarman Vineyard. Displaying crisp acidity along with blue fruit, forest floor, pepper, and mossy elements, it possesses more density, richness, glycerin, and body than most 2005s. Previously recommended: As indicated last year, 2004 was a terrific vintage for Turley Zinfandels. If they can still be found, I would opt for purchasing them over their lighter 2005 counterparts.
