Score 85-87/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2009

(negociant wine) Medium red with a palish rim. Currant, leather, smoke and brown spices on the nose; very Morey. Quite supple in the mouth, with a restrained sweetness. Finishes with substantial, slightly dusty tannins; the saignee Meo carried out may have overemphasized the tannins. (The Marsannay that preceded this sample showed limited flesh and came off rather lean.)
