(picked at the end; two-thirds of these vines are at least 70 years of age, the other one-third just 10): Good full red. Sexy aromas of black raspberry and minerals, with a hint of crushed stone. Pure, sappy, high-pitched flavors of cranberry, pomegranate and flowers are juicy and imploded. Nicely concentrated for this cuvee , finishing with excellent lift and structure. A peppery element adds complexity on the back.

Masses of fruit and charm! Just serious strawberry fruit. Yet good race too. (JR)

The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St. Jacques wafts from the glass with crushed flowers, spices and expressive small red fruit. Weightless and impeccable throughout, the Lavaux St. Jacques impresses for its transparency and delicacy. This was the last parcel to be harvested in 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. My visit with Eric Rousseau was one of the highlights of my fall trip. The 2010s are fabulous from top to bottom. Rousseau started picking on September 22. The fruit saw about four days of cold soak followed by a cuvaison that lasted anywhere from 15 to 21 days, depending on the wine. I was equally thrilled with the 2009s I tasted from bottle. I will have more on those wines in our April issue. Importer: Frederic Wildman & Sons, New York, NY; tel. (212) 355-0700
