(13.7% alcohol; includes 18% grenache from the same vineyard): Good dark color. Blackberry, blueberry, olive, bay leaf, meat and a hint of stone on the inviting nose. Then broad and a bit dry in the mouth, with lovely aromatic complexity to the zesty dark berry and spice flavors. Doesn't quite deliver the depth promised by the nose, but this is round and approachable from the outset. The grenache is pale in color but contributes gras, notes Morlet. In a refreshing style, piquant and stylish. Not a powerful wine but I find it very easy to drink.
