The 2011 At the Movies is a one-time bottling dedicated to celebrated film critic Roger Ebert. The At the Movies is a powerful, dark wine. Black cherry, chocolate, spice and espresso give this sumptuous Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend its dark, somber personality. The 2011 has aged well, but any remaining bottles need to be finished.

(a 90/10 blend of cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot; almost entirely from Moulds Vineyard, on benchland in the Oak Knoll District): Bright medium ruby. Very dark aromas of black cherry, blueberry, licorice and menthol. Tightly wound, even youthfully imploded, showing a slight herbal dryness to the flavors of dark berries, licorice and bitter chocolate. Finishes savory and firmly tannic. The most backward of these 2011s to this point.
The 2011 At the Movies stands out for its length, persistence and overall balance. The Cabernet Sauvignon flavors are especially vivid and alive in the glass, but at the same time, the Pritchard Hill Petit Verdot is also incredibly expressive. Blackberry jam, crushed rocks, menthol, licorice and wild flowers add nuance on the finish. The 2011 is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon (mostly Moulds) and 10% Petit Verdot (mostly Martinez).
