Tasting notes
(a 90/10 blend of cabernet sauvignon and petite sirah): Bright medium ruby. Vibrant aromas of cassis, licorice and black pepper. Bright, juicy and tightly wound, creamy and concentrated on the one hand and spicy and high-pitched on the other, with black fruit flavors dominating. This impressively fresh cabernet finishes with a serious spine of fine-grained tannins and sneaky lingering sweetness. A superb showing today.

One of the juicier and more immediate wines in this lineup, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon The Knockout bursts from the glass with generous black fruit, tar, asphalt, licorice and violets, all in a round, supple style that is highly appealing. The Knockout is rich, inviting and very nicely balanced. Layers of expressive blue and black fruit flow through to the creamy finish. This is one of the more overt, ripe wines in the lineup, but once again, the balance is superb.
