Tasting notes
Leather, smoke, tobacco and savory herbs are some of the first notes that open up in the 2011 The Knockout. This is one of the more forward, savory wines in the Behrens lineup. There is a bit less fruit and overall mid-palate depth, both of which suggest the 2011 is best enjoyed sooner rather than later.

(84% cabernet sauvignon with 8% each cabernet franc and petit verdot): Bright ruby-red. Lovely lift to the aromas and flavors of black cherry, cassis and violet; avoids the green element of the At the Movies. At once silky and vinous, showing a lovely balance of sweetness and acidity. Finishes with supple tannins and excellent length. This is mostly from cabernet sauvignon clone 337 grown in Pope Valley.
