2018 Monteraponi Trebbiano Colli della Toscana Centrale

Closed in a yellow wax capsule, this is always a wine of magnitude and depth. The 2018 Trebbiano (made with organic fruit) reveals a dark golden color with orange or amber highlights. The wine is not particularly luminous, as it instead offers some very faint cloudiness and those saturated colors. The aromas include apricot, pear, honey and spicy saffron. However, the wine comes alive in magnificent fashion in the mouth, where it shows some mild tannic structure, salty mineral tones and expertly balanced acidity. It should be fascinating to come back to this wine in five to ten years.
