(60% new French oak): Inky ruby. Spice- and smoke-tinged blackberry and cherry aromas are complemented by suggestions of candied rose and pipe tobacco. Offers juicy dark berry and bitter cherry flavors that put on weight and become sweeter with air while maintaining lively character. Finishes energetic and appealingly sweet, with harmonious tannins, a touch of vanilla and strong, spicy persistence. This bottling delivers outstanding value, especially compared to what one would spend on a Cabernet of similar quality from Napa.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon offers up intense cassis, black plums and blackberry preserves notes with hints of spice box and pencil shavings. Medium to full-bodied, it has firm, chewy tannins and good earthy expression on offer in the mouth, with nice freshness and persistence.

Leading off the reds and coming mostly from purchased grapes, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is handpicked and hand sorted, which isn't a given for most wines at this price point. Aged 10-11 months in 60% new French oak, it's a solid value in Cabernet and offers lots of darker fruits, violets, and scorched earth in a sexy, plump, deliciously textured style. This estate was created in 2010 by brothers Daniel and Georges Daou, and it lies high up off Adelaida Road. Along with l’Aventure and Booker Vineyards, this estate is unquestionably leading the charge with regards to Bordeaux varieties in Paso Robles.

Dark purple. Energetic, spice-tinged aromas of dried cherry, red currant, mocha and licorice. Juicy and tightly focused, showing very good energy and lift to the bitter cherry and red berry flavors. Becomes spicier and deeper with air and finishes on a youthfully chewy note, with very good persistence and dusty tannins adding structure.
