Score 94/100 · Drink 2016-2041, Robert Parker, Mar 2016

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon The Leap was aged 20 months in 50% new French oak. This is a beautiful wine, offering up an opaque purple color and a beautiful nose of floral-infused blackberries and blueberries, as well as cassis. This is a wine of great intensity, with a multilayered mouthfeel and deep, pure richness. This stunner should drink well for 20-25 years.

Stags' Leap Winery

Often confused with Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, Stags’ Leap Winery is another Stags Leap District estate. With a long history, its Petite Sirah has cult status among aficionados, although – like most Napa estates – it produces a range of Cabernet Sauvignon wines.
