Tasting notes
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Patriarch is a selection of the best lots within the Winston Hill vineyard. Inky and explosive in the glass, the 2016 offers tremendous depth to match its layered personality. Blueberry jam, lavender, mint and sweet spice all develop in the glass, but the Patriarch still needs a few years in bottle to be at its very best. Even in the early going, though, the 2016 is impressive.

Very deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Patriarch delivers intense spicy scents of black pepper, star anise, cloves and cinnamon stick over core of blackcurrant cordial, warm plums and mulberries plus hints of Black Forest cake, lilacs and fallen leaves. Full bodied with bags of poise and finesse, the palate features red and black fruit layers and very fine-grained tannins, finishing perfumed and polished.
