Score 91/100 · Drink 2019-2030, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2018

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon J. Davies is another super-distinctive wine from Davies. Layers of dense, dark fruit make a strong opening statement. Rich, voluptuous and hedonistic, the 2015 is a decidedly bold wine, but there is also better balance than in the Winfield. At times, the alcohol is a bit pronounced. Otherwise, this is an attractive Cabernet from Davies.

Score 90/100 · Drink 2017-2023, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Oct 2017

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon has a pronounced nose of crushed black currants and black cherries with hints of dried bay leaves, chocolate box and tapenade. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is well crafted with vibrant black fruits that fill the mouth and are nicely framed by grainy tannins, finishing with some spicy hints and oodles of freshness.
