Tasting notes
Coming from Rutherford and based on 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, and 1% Cabernet Franc, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Winston Hill has a juicy, upfront bouquet of blue fruits, lead pencil shavings, dark chocolate, vanilla, and scorched earth. It shows the more straight, focused style of the vintage, has medium to full body, firm tannins, and a great finish.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Winston Hill is wonderfully deep and expressive from the very first taste. In 2017, the Winston Hill is perhaps a bit less overt than it often is, but that only gives it more up-front appeal and overall accessibility. Sweet floral notes, cedar, sweet tobacco and raspberry jam all grace this very pretty and inviting Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2017 Winston Hill is one of the unqualified successes of the vintage.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Winston Hill is made up of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it features scents of stewed plums, baked berries, warm cassis, earth, tar and bay leaves. Medium to full-bodied, it is a little thin in the mid-palate with a chewy texture and nice freshness to the finish. Well managed.
