An incredibly cold and foggy site. Only one cluster per shoot in order to successfully ripen fruit in this vineyard. The fruit area is completely deleafed to provide maximum sun exposure. Aged in 100% French oak (25% new) for 14 months. Pale ruby in colour. Ripe, floral nose with a savoury stemminess. Really bright acidity, tart red and black cherry and wet dark earth. Fine-grained tannin. Very crunchy – pomegranate, cranberry and tart red plum with lots of earth. An elegant, smoked-peat earthiness. (SCJ)
The ruby-hued 2021 Pinot Noir Seascape Vineyard is expressive in its floral and spicy perfume of candied roses, wild cherry, and cinnamon spice. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and bright acidity, it’s ripe with fresh cranberry, orange zest, and smoky earth. It has a good, snappy finish, with wild forest herbs and a lightly musty note. Drink 2024-2032.
