Tasting notes
The tiny production 2019 Blueline Estate 36 is a best barrel selection from the Blueline vineyard and it's an incredible wine from Tony Biagi that's up with the best out there. Gorgeously pure cassis, damp earth, tobacco leaf, and crushed stone notes are just some of the nuances here and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a tight, focused, yet rich and incredibly pure mouthfeel, building tannins, and an incredible finish. This magical Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon will benefit from just 2-4 years of bottle age and cruise for 20-30 years in cold cellar. Bravo! The blend is 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot, and 8% Merlot, aged 22 months in new French oak, and it clocks in at 14.8% natural alcohol.

The 2019 Blueline Estate 36 is a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot and 8% Malbec. In fact, it is mainly See Clone Cabernet Sauvignon co-fermented with Malbec. Opaque purple-black colored, it needs some swirling to unlock intense scents of blackcurrant cordial, baked plums and redcurrant jelly with hints of molten licorice, Morello cherries, rose oil and tilled soil. Full-bodied, the palate is solidly structured with very firm, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, supporting the muscular black fruits and floral notes, finishing long and spicy.
The 2019 Red Wine 36-24-36 Blueline Estate is a hugely promising wine that still needs time to come together. Crushed raspberry, rose petal, blood orange and mocha all confer brightness. Plush, rich and beautifully layered, the 2019 is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine.
