Score 90/100 · Drink 2004-2017, Robert Parker, Jan 2000

The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It offers a deep purple color, superb concentration and purity, and abundant black currant/cassis fruit intermixed with spice box, cedar, and fruit cake scents. Dried herbs, licorice, and loamy soil notes also make an appearance in this full-bodied, moderately tannic offering. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2017. (release date 2/00) Tel. Saturated ruby-purple. Bright, slightly floral aromas of cassis, black cherry and lead pencil. Thick but penetrating and sharply delineated; a very youthful, very long wine that boasts nicely managed, sweet tannins. Strong potential.
